My first year at Payt has come to an end. I am proud of how I have developed within the team and the contribution I have made to the growth. In this blog, I share how my start went, what I have learned, what energises me, and what I look forward to in the future.

The first weeks at Payt

On my first day, I received a warm welcome from the marketing team. I was given ample time to set up my laptop and review the key documents.

During my first week, the team introduced me to the ongoing marketing activities and the objectives for the year. This quickly gave me a clear understanding of our team’s direction.

When I started at Payt, a major migration was already planned. The company was getting a new website. For SEO, this is a crucial moment. If such a migration doesn’t go well, all the established positions in search engines can be lost.

This allowed me to get started right away. It energises me when I can add value from the very beginning.

After the successful completion of the migration, I had the opportunity to dive deeper into the SEO performance and develop a new strategy for the coming year.

Connecting with colleagues happened naturally. The shared, healthy lunches at the office ensure that you get to know each other quickly.

My responsibilities

As an SEO specialist at Payt, I focus on increasing our organic visibility in search engines. This involves optimising the website, technical SEO, link building, and continuously monitoring performance.

Since the rise of AI, the SEO landscape has been rapidly evolving. Previously, the focus was mainly on your own website’s performance and link building, but now it’s equally important to be visible across multiple channels. This can help you rank better in Large Language Models (LLM). Think of platforms like ChatGPT.

Therefore, I not only engage in traditional SEO tasks but also concentrate on our organic presence on LinkedIn, Instagram, Google Business, and YouTube.

I see the developments around AI as an interesting challenge. On one hand, it changes how people search and find information, and on the other, it offers opportunities to make my work smarter and more efficient.

The company culture at Payt

Payt is not a ‘normal’ company. We work with people who have an entrepreneurial mindset and are naturally independent. This is reflected in the way we collaborate. Everyone is given a great deal of trust and freedom to shape their work in their own way.

Payt assumes you are an expert in your field and provides the space to implement your ideas. If you present something well-founded, you often get the chance to actually realise it. This not only provides motivation but also the confidence to continue innovating.

What I personally appreciate is the focus on efficiency. We deliberately keep the number of meetings low and prefer to have quick one-on-one discussions. This is practical and saves time.

The culture at Payt ensures that people are keen to contribute ideas, take responsibility, and genuinely want to commit to the company’s growth. And you notice that every day.

Reflecting and looking ahead

My first year at Payt has truly been a success. What stands out to me the most is how quickly you can implement ideas here. With short lines of communication, you can work much more efficiently.

I’ve often been asked, “Wow, do you handle all these SEO tasks on your own?”
Yes, it’s possible because efficiency is key here. Decisions are made quickly, without endless analysis or meetings. This allows us to achieve a lot in a short amount of time.

My colleagues also play a significant role in this. I work with intelligent, dedicated colleagues from whom you can learn a lot. This collaboration ensures continuous growth.

Looking ahead, I’m curious about how the SEO landscape will continue to evolve. A lot is changing at the moment, which makes the field particularly interesting for me.

I look forward to further increasing Payt’s visibility.
