My first three months at Payt: ready to take on the wholesale market

Well! My first three months at Payt are complete. It’s a particularly enjoyable company, and I’m now fully ready to prove myself to the utmost here!

Introduction

My name is Chris Kooke, 34 years old, and I am a category manager at Payt. I am responsible for connecting wholesalers to Payt; arranging appointments, creating customised quotes, maintaining contacts, and much more.

The first weeks at Payt

Shaking hands, meeting the teams, and preparing myself for the upcoming period at Payt. What a warm welcome it has been! The first weeks were mainly about discovering the culture I’ve joined and clearly outlining what I aim to achieve in the coming year.

Payt has primarily focused on dental care in recent years. I will now ensure that wholesalers also become a great success by concentrating on this area.

Of course, this requires some initial research, which occupied me fully for the first two months. Additionally, I needed to thoroughly familiarise myself with the company and the software we sell to our clients. I’ve got a good grasp of it now, although I still occasionally have doubts about how it all works. Fortunately, we have plenty of colleagues who know everything clearly, so I can always turn to them!

What I’m currently working on

At the moment, I’m primarily focused on making calls, sending emails, and maintaining contacts so that companies get to know us and, of course, don’t forget about me. During the first one and a half to two months, I was mainly occupied with developing an action plan for myself, which has revealed a clear BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) that I aim to achieve by 2026.

Additionally, with the help of marketing, I’ve already compiled some excellent lists of contacts in wholesalers that I can reach more easily. It won’t be long before we make a significant impact in the wholesale sector!

Working at Payt

Well, what can I say! Everyone here is very relaxed. There’s a fantastic working atmosphere in the office where everyone comfortably does what they need to do. Additionally, the culture at Payt is also excellent.

Everyone follows instructions and no one is questioned. It’s wonderful to see how well this works here. I’m not super active in collaborating with everyone (except with marketing), but that’s also because the roles are so different. Nonetheless, we all get along well with each other!

Looking ahead to what’s coming

Looking ahead is key! In the coming period, I will be onboarding my first clients and gaining new experiences within the sales process. Think, for example, of the implementation of new clients, the online demos that need to be conducted, and client visits.

Plenty of exciting and enjoyable things are coming my way, but I am definitely ready for them and more than eager! I am glad to be here with great colleagues and that the atmosphere is truly fantastic. That is the most important thing for me. The plans are clear, and the steps towards the goal are as well. The only thing left now is execution and results.
